A long long time ago there was a Fort built in the foothills of Stellenbosch. And today.... we get to capture some really great wedding moments here.

The Capel
The Ceremony takes place in a chapel built dating back to 1901, the Houmoed Cellar, along with the manor house, is the oldest building on the estate and serves as a wedding chapel. Originally built as a wine cellar, Dr. Simon Uys removed the concrete fermenting tanks in 1967. In 2013 careful renovations took place to transform the old building into an elegant wedding chapel without losing its old-world character.
Reception
Reception takes place in Fort Anna, built in 1969 and is the main wedding venue. It consists of a foyer and reception hall. Surrounded by the beautiful blue pool, lush gardens and lawns it is perfect for any wedding all-year round.
The Grounds
Fort Simon Estate offers so many incredibly beautiful spots for photographic opportunities. From wide open landscapes in the vineyard to some rustic vibes at the chapel or the working yard.
My favourite time is Autumn when the vineyard turn all kind of beautiful colours. But anytime time of the year is great. Don't take my word for it, see for yourself some of my favourite images we have had the privilege of capturing at Fort Simon, below.
The venue can accommodate 100-140 guests comfortably. When it comes to food, Jorika and her team is phenomenal. From starters to mains and delicious desert. It's always beautifully presented and tastes amazing. Mains always reminds me of "my ma se lekker kook kos!". A favourite is always the 'pampoen koekies' yum.
Every venue needs a Jorika, she and her team is on another level you will not be disappointed booking your wedding day here. Every time we get the opportunity to capture a wedding at Fort Simon is always special and she knows just how to make us, the wedding party and guest feel right at home.
There is something really special and fairy-tail like about this venue. I mean what princess doesn't want to get married in a Castle?
